NEWS – Towards the end of last year, when many people were making arrangements for virtual get-togethers for the holidays and for the New Year, I thought it would be nice for the contributors to The Gadgeteer to share some holiday cheer and well-wishing. About half the group gathered on December 30th for a chance to share details about where we each live in the country, what our life is like at home, and what keeps each of us busy during the day. Towards the end of the evening, the group participated in a show-and-tell event, and we shared details about our favorite gadgets and some of our first reviews. We also took this opportunity to share details of our favorite beverages and our family pets. All had a fun time, and I’m hoping that we can have our next Gadgetogether soon!

That was a LOT of fun and I agree that we MUST do it again soonish so the rest of the team can join in!
2 funny things that came out of that mtg.
1. For the last 16yrs I thought Smythe Richbourg’s first name was pronounced SMITH instead of SM-EYE-TH. oops!
2. I thought one of my newer writers Guanshan Fix was a guy but she’s a girl! ha! 🙂
I just wrote it that way to sound it out 😉
I always pronounced it to rhyme with EYETH in my head. But only one syllable – are there 3 syllables?
I work over the phone, so find myself explaining how it is not “Mike” about every other call. It’s just one syllable, so it sounds like a British English pronunciation of “Smith” – a long “i”, like in “mine”.
I need to make this easily available for everyone:
