CROWDFUNDING NEWS – This week we are bringing you information about four different crowdfunding campaigns that are currently running on Kickstarter. This week’s campaigns are for people who like tiny multi-tools, drones, and more.

SORA: Reusable Planner for Life

What is it?

SORA is an all-in-one reusable whiteboard planner with a disc binding system (like Happy Planner) that you can use to organize your professional, creative, and personal life.

Why do I like it?

Like reusable Rocket notebooks, I like the fact that you can reuse the SORA planner over and over again just by cleaning off the page. I also like the disc-style binding because it’s so easy to rearrange pages. SORA is great for people who love to plan because it includes yearly, monthly, daily, and diet and wellness tracker pages.

The SORA campaign ends on 11/10/20 and they have met their funding goal of $765. You can pre-order a SORA starting at $29. After the SORA campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in January 2021. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

B•A•T SCARAB: Minimal Multi-tool Coin

What is it?

This is a coin-sized multi-tool that is TSA compliant while still offering a blade that you can use to cut string and open packages. It can be used to tighten screws, as a pry tool/scraper, and even as a reflector signal (I think that one is stretching it a little though).

Why do I like it?

I like it because it’s a tiny multi-tool that is small that it will fit in any pocket and it’s affordable.

The BAT campaign ends on 11/12/20 and they have already met their funding goal of $1,500. You can pre-order a BAT starting at $15. After the BAT campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in January 2021. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

KALEA kitchen composter

What is it?

KALEA is a fully automatic kitchen composter that turns your food scraps into compost in 48hrs without stinking up your kitchen

Why do I like it?

I get tired of walking out to our woods to toss scraps when it’s raining or cold outside. I think a self-contained composter that looks like a modern kitchen appliance is a great idea. Especially for people who grow plants or enjoy gardening. With the KALEA, you won’t need to buy bags of potting soil.

Something to consider before pledging

While I love the idea of the KALEA, there’s one thing that is concerning about this project. They don’t plan to ship rewards until December of 2021! That’s over one year away. I don’t know about you, but I hate waiting a couple of months for most campaigns, but over a year? Hmmm…

The KALEA campaign ends on 11/22/20 and they have more than met their funding goal of $89,057. You can pre-order a KALEA starting at $721. After the KALEA campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in December 2021. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Beagle NOVA Drone

What is it?

Beagle NOVA is a 4K 60FPS FPV (first person view) drone that is super light weight at less than 250 grams.

Why do I like it?

This looks like a fun drone because you can pair with VR goggles so that you feel like you’re flying while you’re capturing 4K video or 1080P slo-mo video. I also light that you don’t need a drone license for this one because the weight is so low.

Something to consider before pledging

The drone comes with 2 batteries which is great, but the flight time per battery is only 7 minutes which is not so great. You’ll also need your own goggles unless you decide to get one of the pledge points that include a pair.

The NOVA Drone campaign ends on 12/03/20 and they easily met and passed their funding goal of $5,000. You can pre-order a NOVA Drone starting at $369. After the NOVA Drone campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in January 2021. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
