NEWS – When Bowers & Wilkins got into the wireless and noise-canceling headphone arena, they didn’t hold back. Right out of the gate, they came up with a winner: the B&W PX wireless headphone. As they’ve proven through the years, B&W always push themselves, never resting on past successes. Case in point: The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 and PX5 noise-canceling wireless headphones plus the all new P13 earphone.
The popular B&W PX wireless headphone has been updated to the over-ear PX7 ($399.99 US). It sports 43mm drivers—the largest in B&Ws collection—built and tuned by the same engineers behind the B&W 800 Series speakers used in Abbey Road Studios in England. There are 24bit/96kHz streaming capabilities. New, adaptive noise canceling automatically responds to the environment, keeping the outside world … out.
Battery life is rated at 30 hours and if that’s not enough, a 15-minute quick charge gets you five additional hours. The PX7 responds to your moves. Lift an ear cup to hear what’s happening around you and the music automatically stops. Put it back and the music plays on.
Carbon fiber composite arms channel sound and hold up against everyday wear and tear. Available colors are space grey and silver.
The on-ear PX5 ($299.99 US) replaces the wonderful P5 wireless headphone. As with the PX7, adaptive noise canceling automatically adjusts to the external environment. The PX5 is light and compact while delivering sound quality built on B&W’s standards. Custom 35mm drivers are (again) designed and tuned by the same team behind the 800 Series speakers.
One battery charge equals over a full day of music—a 15-minute quick charge provides five hours of audio playback. As with the more expensive PX7, lifting an ear up to hear what’s happening around you stops the music automatically. Available colors are space grey and blue.
Finally, there’s the all-new P13 in-ear wireless headphones (earphones). A high and mid-frequency driver is combined with a separate bass driver—what B&W calls Dual Driver technology that has separate amplifiers with aptX codec and can stream music up to 24bit/96kHz.
The P13 provides 8 hours of battery life. A quick,15-minute charge gives you two hours of audio playback. Constructed from soft, coated silicone and rubber, the PI3 holds firm yet remains comfortable. The PI3 microphone transmits clear vocals on phone calls. Voices on the other end can be heard with the same clarity as music. Available colors are space grey, blue and gold.
The B&W PX5 headphones are available now. The PX7 headphone and P13 earphone will be available soon. Visit Bowers & Wilkins for more information.
