Every time we visit my in-laws, there is always a discussion about speed eating at the dinner table. We debate whether it is good or bad for you, but normally the general consensus is that it’s not; the theory being that it can cause you to overeat. Changing the fast eating habit can be difficult to do on your own. There is good news though! HAPILABS has developed the HAPIfork; a high tech fork that collects data on your eating habits and sends it via USB or Bluetooth to an online dashboard. There, you can track how quickly you ate your meal, as well your bites per minute. The HAPIfork also provides instantaneous feedback, vibrating and lighting up when you are eating too quickly. The HAPIfork is dishwasher safe, comes in a variety of colors, and is set to be released after June for $99.

The discussion about speed eating at the dinner table helps reducing the eating speed.
That is very true for me.. I don’t realize how fast I am eating until the end of the meal (when everyone is half way done while I am finished) or my father-in-law starts mentioning health facts mid-meal. 😉
