Teddy Ruxpin (animatronic toy from the 80’s) always creeped me out with his freaky moving eyes and mouth. I never had one but I wonder how many kids were traumatized by that battery operated story telling bear? Fast forward 27 years and we now have Ubooly (say it like oo-boo-lee), an orange marsupial that can hold your iPhone or iPod touch. When the iPhone isn’t inserted, your kids will have a regular plush toy, but with the device inserted, the screen becomes Ubooly’s face. The toy uses voice interaction to read stories, tell jokes and play games with 4-9yr olds. You can purchase your own Ubooly cuddly ball of fur for $29.95. I will leave you with this quote: “Frankenstein never scared me; marsupials do, because they’re fast.” Bonus points to anyone that gets this reference…

For what its worth: it’s Teddy “Ruxpin”
@Robin Darnit… Fixed it. 🙂
Still looks creepy to me, but better than clowns… clowns are scary to me. Had one in the closet that just sat there and stared at me into the wee hours of the night when I was a child 😛
