I’ve seen some intriguing cases for the MacBook Air recently that convert into stands or risers to elevate the laptop and allow air flow under it. The one I like the best was the Opt MagicQ case, but they don’t have a US distributor and I couldn’t find them on Amazon or eBay. I began searching for something similar, and I found a couple of cases on eBay that looked interesting. The first is the Mizar MacBook Air Smart Leather Standing Cases. (They are sold by various sellers in Korea. Just do a search on eBay for Mizar MacBook.) That case can be used as a pad with wrist rest to set your Air on, or it can be folded into a stand to elevate the back of the Air. These cases are available for both the 11″ and 13″ Air, and the prices are between $70 – $80. The top two photos show the Mizar case. The bottom row of photos show the Artmu MacBook Air Leather Stand Pouch. (Do a search for Artmu MacBook on eBay.) The front flap of this case rolls up into a triangular stand much like Apple’s iPad Smart Cover does. They cost $45 – $50, and they are available for both sizes of the Air. There didn’t seem to be a big selection of these cases, but I decided I’d take a chance on the Artmu case for the 11″ Air. It should be here by the end of the month. I’ll post a review once I get it and have a chance to use it for a while. (Click the photo for an enlarged view.)
