BodyGuardz produces protective skins for a variety of electronic devices. Their new Carbon Fiber Armor for iPad 2 covers the back of your iPad 2 to protect it from scratches. It is a very thin PVC film with a carbon fiber texture that protects without adding bulk, and it’s available in black or white. The Armor applies without the use of water, and it is easily removed without leaving a sticky residue behind. For $29.95, you’ll get either a black or white Carbon Fiber back cover plus a ScreenGuardz HD Anti-Glare screen protector.

3M makes the material and a large sheet (enough for about 4 iPads) can be had for about $5. We used it a while back to make a mock-up of a carbon fiber Macbook laptop: http://www.rainydaymagazine.com/RDM2006/RainyDayProjects/G3Upgrade/RDP_G3UpgradeOpenG3.htm
The value-add from BodyGuardz is, of course, all the nice laser cut openings. However, a sharp x-acto knife can accomplish much the same for those with a steady hand. A nice rainy day DIY…hint, hint 😉

Your article makes me want to go on eBay and purchase a G3 laptop 🙂
We never would have sold it had Apple continued to support the PowerPC, but 10.4 was the end of the road.
Somebody got a great deal on the unit when we sold it on EBay about 4 years ago.
Get a better case at icarbons.com. They cover more surface area and it is also cheaper and more durable. I reviewed the BG CF kit and the iCarbons and icarbons was better hands down. The BG edges came up after using it for a month but not icarbons as I am still using it right now. Icarbons gives you the front coverage and the back for $29.99 and BG charges $29.99 for just the back. Tbh the edges on the BG is just so weird looking. Oh and did I mention there is a special cutout for icarbons to show off the apple. If you get e white one it comes with a black Apple and Vic versatile on the black where as BG just covers the whole thing. Icarbons is by far my most favorite and I would recommend that to anyone.
