The LifeProof Company has developed an iPhone 4 case that will protect your phone from dirt, snow, water, and shock. The LifeProof iPhone 4 case is made of a combination of materials that protect your phone while adding only 1 ounce of weight and 1/16th inch of thickness. This case is designed to military specifications. It meets the full IP-68 rating against water and dust and MIL-STD-810F-516.5 specifications for shock and impact (2 meters/6.6ft drop on all surfaces and edges). The LifeProof case is fully sealed to keep out dirt and dust. The case is waterproof to 2 meters. With the optional adapter, you can even use this with waterproof headphones while swimming. Double AR-coated optical glass protects the camera lens but doesn’t interfere with picture or video quality. The LifeProof iPhone 4 case will sell for $69.95 and will be available in April. You can pre-order your LifeProof iPhone 4 case at the LifeProof website today.

How about an IPhone 5 version?
@Jim
How about an iPhone 5 first? 🙂
How does it work out in real life?
If you have to take it off every time you want to sync / recharge, how easy is it to take it off?
How often can you take it off and put it on again without it starting to leak?
Sure looks like an interesting case, but a real life test would be ever so nice.
We really need more info. The pictures are terrible as well. It’s like they are afraid to tell us how this thing works in real life. C’mon LifeProof, I need some proof I’m not wasting my life on your product.
My iPhone just found it’s way into a public toilet the other day. Man I wish I had one of those.
Go To the Lifeproof website..pics, videos. stories….there customer service reps are top notch, respond and answer questions fast…check them out…
Fantastic concept – great size compared to competitors. The fit’s OK except for screen which is bubbly like a cheap jogging armband. Very muffled sound – first one I tried was unuseable. 2nd still needs headphones half the time to be understood.
None Apple headphones require an adaptor (supplied) or penknife to shave them down to size. My car charger plug doesn’t fit with the case on. Note that there’s a limit to the number of times you can take the phone in and out of the case before the waterproofness isn’t guaranteed.
If you’re buying for 4S make sure you get the right one. They’ve had to change the design because Apple moved the light sensor. Just because it says “4S” on the box doesn’t mean it will work with a 4S (mine didn’t).
I’d love the Lifeproof to work – it’s such a neat fit and not nearly as bulky as other rugged cases, but I’ve given up on it because I’m one of those odd people who uses my iPhone as a telephone and the examples I’ve tried just don’t work.
If you do decide to buy make sure it’s not too hard to send back when it doesn’t work.
Can’t recommend based on my experience.
I love the case… a little bulky but it works great. No problem charging with a Mac cord. Had trouble finding an extender that worked with my Bose, etc. The “Cable Jive” extender works! In 2 months I’ve dropped it twice and had a glass of wine spilled on it… Worth the price.
