From Koss, the Striva offers an ultra compact WiFi earpiece solution. Using WiFi (not Bluetooth), the earpieces can be used to stream internet radio stations directly to the headphones, using the Content Access Point (CAP) stream from you smartphone, tablet or MP3 player.  Or you can use them as standard headphones by plugging them into any stereo device using the included audio cable.

The earpieces last for 2 hours in wiFi mode or 1.2 hours in CAP mode and can be used within 300 feet (in optimal conditions) from your WiFi access point.

Available for $500 from the Koss Store

One cool app that seems to be missed is that you can attach the CAP to a device in your home such as another MP3 player. The CAP will stream the MP3s music via the cloud as a source to your head phones even if you are in another network, like at work or somewhere else.

Bummer on the battery life. Guess you have to pay for the greater range!
