candyThere are only 7 days till Halloween, one of our most celebrated holidays, where we have an excuse to act like a kid again by eating our weight in chocolate and candies. I personally don’t indulge since I am a diabetic, but for those of you that have a mouth full of sweet teeth and just can’t resist, here’s a list by SURGEX’s Celebrity nutritionist Carl Germano RD, CNS, CDN that might help guide you in your candy consuming extravaganza:

Snickers- 1 bar has 215 calories, 15 g of fat and 12 g of sugar
Milky Way- 1 bar has 270 calories, 10 g of fat and 35 g of sugar
Kit Kat big Kat- has 286 calories, 15 g of fat and 30 g of sugar
3 Musketeers- 1 bar has 182 calories, 6.2 g of fat and 27 g of sugar
Sour Patch Kids- 1 bag has 150 calories, 0 g of fat and 26 g of sugar
Skittles- 1 cup has 830 calories, 9 g of fat and 155 g of sugar
Skor chocolate bar- has 209 calories, 13 g of fat and 24 g of sugar
Butterfingers- 1 bar has 270 calories, 17 g of fat and 30 g of sugar
Candy Corn- 19 pieces has 150 calories, 0 g of fat and 33 g of sugar

Wow, I had no idea Skittles were that bad… I probably ate that many in a day … back in the day… 🙂 What is your favorite Halloween candy treat? I still have a funbar once in awhile.

  2. I can still taste the melt in my mouth goodness of my favorite – Three Muskateers. Been a long time, as I too, am diabetic. Once in a very great while, I’ll induge. I used to enjoy them semi-frozen.

    1. @Matt I love 3 Muskateers too. 🙂 I hadn’t had one in ages, but the other day my bank had a bowl of them for Halloween. They were even smaller than fun bites. Maybe half that size. I grabbed two and YUM!!!!
