PocketToolX PIRANHA – A Multi-tool that is TSA Compliant

The PIRANHA from PocketToolX looks like a great addition to your EDC gear. It made from a single piece of stainless steel and is able to perform several jobs. It has a bottle opener, pry tips, scraper tip, open and box wrenches, and includes a full sized double-ended Phillips/flathead bit. The PIRANHA is available for $49 – $59 depending on the type of finish.

I bet TSA still confiscates it.

I’ve found that if it’s TSA compliant, that generally means it’s pretty much useless…

I’ve had TSA officials flatly tell me that multitooks are not allowed without offering any explanation about whether they contain blades, etc. so I wouldn’t want to risk trying to take a $50 product like that on board. I pack it in the checked luggage if I have it.

I wonder how these compare to Attwood tools? I’d love one of those, but I’m always too late when they go on sale :-(

I can’t help but wonder if one could get into an airplane’s cockpit with it.

I own one of these and have carried it safely on multiple domestic and international flights no problem — you only have to watch out for the sticky finger security agents that want it for themselves!
