The Thirsty Light is a digital moisture meter that takes the guess work out of watering your plants. It’s a metal probe with a leave shaped module at one end, that houses an LED. Stick the Thirsty Light in a potted plant and when the LED blinks, you know it’s time to water your plant. It can’t get much easier than that.

Very nice. My usual method is waiting until they look like they’re about to die, then rushing round with the water and flooding the carpet.
This is a nice solution, but a bit pricey.
Does it only work with water, or also with other, er, liquids like beer?
