The Satechi BT Wireless Bluetooth Speaker is designed for use with smartphones, tablets, and laptops. It is small and compact enough, especially when closed (see image in the bottom left of above picture), to fit easily in your gear bag. It has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 6 hours of sound. It has been designed with “Satechi’s signature Bass Expansion System which extends the speakers to amplify dynamic audio range without compromising acoustic integrity. The BT Portable Speaker features a vacuum chamber that opens up like an accordion to mimic the acoustic properties of subwoofers resulting in enhanced bass output.” In addition to streaming music, it also works as a speakerphone for Bluetooth-equipped phones. The Satechi BT speaker is available for $44.99 at Satechi or Amazon.

Ink I have to get me one … always fancied these little popup speakers but was put off for the need of cables.
Firsthand experience, anyone?
“Ink” should have been “I think” … bloody iPad onscreen keyboard ..
I just got one and am not pleased at all. It seems to get very static-ky in just a few moments when connected to my my iphone. if i loosen the headset port cable on the bottom, the bluetooth kicks back in strong for a second but then the static comes back to the point where it sounds like an analog AM signal tuned just to the edge of a station.
I may have gotten a dud. I am returning it so i will be able to let you know soon.
I just received today one that i ordered from a deal groupon was having; it works great! It does have static when your charging it via USB while playing audio on Bluetooth. Other than that, the quality and convenience is great
