Looking for gifts that combine German engineering with actual usefulness? Audi just pitched three holiday options that range from “I want one” to “wait, they make that?”

The highlight is the Audi eMTB 2.0 electric mountain bike. At $5,850, this isn’t your weekend trail toy. It’s a proper enduro-style e-bike built in partnership with Italian manufacturer Fantic, featuring Öhlins suspension components and SRAM’s wireless electronic shifting. The livery takes inspiration from the Dakar Rally-winning RS Q e-tron racecar, so you get motorsport DNA in a two-wheeled package.

What Makes the eMTB 2.0 Different

The second-generation bike packs legitimate performance upgrades. You’re getting a Brose S-MAG 250-watt motor delivering 90 Nm of torque, powered by a 720-Wh battery that’s fully integrated into the lightweight aluminum frame. Range sits between 12 and 90 miles depending on terrain and which of the four assist modes you’re using (Eco, Tour, Sport, or Boost).

The suspension setup uses Öhlins components front and rear. That’s the same brand that builds suspension for MotoGP racing. Up front, you get an RXF38 m.2 air-sprung fork with 180mm of travel. The rear runs a TTX22m.2 coil-sprung shock, also with 180mm of travel. Both are fully adjustable, so you can dial in the ride for your weight and riding style.

Shifting comes from SRAM’s GX Eagle Transmission AXS electronic rear derailleur with wireless control. The 12-speed setup covers a 10-52T cassette range, giving you climbing gears for steep technical sections and speed for flowing descents. Stopping power comes from Sunstar Braking’s F.I.R.S.T. calipers with upgraded EPTA STAGE rotors (220mm front, 203mm rear).

The mixed wheel setup puts a 29-inch wheel up front for rollover capability and a 27.5-inch rear for tight cornering agility. Both roll on Mavic tubeless-ready wheels wrapped in Vittoria e-bike-rated off-road tires.

How It Compares to DJI’s Amflow

If you’re shopping premium electric mountain bikes this season, the Amflow PL Carbon represents a different approach. Powered by DJI’s new Avinox motor system, the Amflow delivers 105 Nm of continuous torque (120 Nm peak) with a claimed weight of just 19.2 kg. That’s significantly lighter than most full-power e-MTBs on the market.

The motor numbers tell part of the story. DJI’s system hits 1,000W at peak output compared to the Audi’s 250-watt motor, though torque figures sit closer together (120 Nm peak vs 90 Nm continuous). The Amflow also packs a larger 800-Wh battery versus the Audi’s 720-Wh capacity.

Where they diverge is philosophy. DJI brings tech company thinking to the bike space with their Avinox system, leveraging two decades of electric motor and battery experience from drones and cameras. The result emphasizes maximum power-to-weight ratio and proprietary software integration. Audi’s approach through the Fantic partnership focuses on proven components from established cycling brands – Öhlins suspension, SRAM electronics, Sunstar braking.

Price positioning differs substantially. The Amflow PL Carbon typically runs around $6,499 before any holiday deals, putting it roughly $650 above the Audi eMTB 2.0’s $5,850 price point. You’re paying that premium for cutting-edge motor technology and significant weight savings, though the Audi delivers race-proven suspension components and wireless shifting at its lower price.

Both represent serious performance options rather than casual trail toys. The choice comes down to priorities: maximum power and minimum weight (Amflow), or proven component pedigree and aggressive pricing (Audi).

For the Builders: Mattel Brick Shop Sets

If you’re shopping for someone who prefers building to riding, Mattel’s Brick Shop offers two Audi sets. The ’94 Audi Avant RS2 and ’15 Audi R8 LMS both feature detailed authenticity with decals for customization and two sets of wheel covers.

The 2025 update introduces Dynamic Themes, which cycle through bundled imagery automatically every 10 minutes. This builds on the Halloween themes Audi introduced earlier this year, expanding their digital customization options for drivers who want to personalize beyond physical modifications.

Where to Find These

The Audi eMTB 2.0 is available now through Audi Genuine Accessories at $5,850. Audi also offers branded accessories including riding gloves, cycling jerseys and shorts, water bottles, and compatible bike racks for select models.

The Mattel Brick Shop build sets are available directly through Mattel’s online store. The myAudi Holiday Themes can be accessed through the myAudi marketplace for compatible vehicles.
