REVIEW – If you enjoy reading physical books or you have an ereader that doesn’t have a backlight, a booklight like the WITHit QUAD and DUO can be a nice accessory to have around. Let’s take a look at both booklights and see how easy they are to use and how well they light up the page.

What is it?
The WITHit QUAD and DUO are clip on booklights designed light up the pages of physical books or ereaders that don’t have a backlight.

Design and features
The WITHit QUAD booklight is an LED light that features a strong pinch clip.
The clip’s jaws open a maximum of 1.25 inches.
The battery compartment is on the bottom of the clip. There’s a screw to secure it. The WITHit runs on 3 AAA and luckily, they are already included and installed. That said, I’d rather that it were rechargeable.
This booklight is called a QUAD because the light head has 4 LEDs.
Clipping the QUAD booklight on the book isn’t difficult, and once positioned, you can direct the light wherever you want it since it’s on a gooseneck-style stalk.
Then, to turn on the light, you just click the button on top of the lamp head.
The brightness level is maxed out by default when you switch the light on.
But you can adjust the brightness by holding the button. It will cycle through the levels. The level isn’t saved though. Each time you power it off and back on again, it goes back to the max brightness.

Design and features
The WITHit DUO is the second booklight that they sent me. It does the same thing as the QUAD, but there are three differences.
First of all, feels a little bulkier to me, especially if you want to use the included carrying case, which seems like a waste of plastic.
The DUO has a shiny black plastic main housing and then there are two arm/stalks with an LED light at the end. Each arm is bendable and has a faux leather covering.
The batteries are stored inside the control module and are accessed by squeezing the tabs on the side behind the clip.
The WITHit DUO is powered by 2 AAA batteries which are not included. I find this annoying. Not only because the batteries aren’t included, but I also wish that this booklight, like the QUAD, were USB rechargeable.
Using the DUO booklight is the same as the QUAD, just clip it to your book and then bend the lights to the best position.
Unlike the QUAD light, the power button is on the bottom side of the clip which makes it a little awkward to turn the light on/off and to switch from high to low by pressing the button again.

Final thoughts
Both WITHit booklights are easy to use and perform as expected. If I were to choose between them, I’d rather have the QUAD light because it feels more compact, it comes with batteries, and the power button is easier to access.
