REVIEW – I used to have a job that required a dress shirt and a suit every day. Well, I still have that same job, but since going fully remote, I don’t have to dress up in a monkey suit anymore. So, ironing shirts and pants is not something I have had to do in quite some time. However, there is always the occasional “special occasion” to attend. From a wedding, to a graduation, to… Well, I guess I don’t have to go to a ton of these things either. My wife, on the other hand, is constantly steaming and ironing clothing. And she has tons of sweaters! So the ReviveSystem 3-in-1 Iron, Steamer, Fabric Shaver was a no-brainer in our house.

The ReviveSystem 3-in-1 Iron, Steamer, and Fabric Shaver is pretty straightforward, exactly what it sounds like. It’s an all-in-one that allows you to iron out or steam wrinkles from clothing, depending on how delicate the garment, as well as shave those nasty pills that seem to be unavoidable on sweaters.

Design and features
To start off, I just have to say I’m very confused by this thing. I guess more so the website than the product itself. As you may have noticed, there are some differing figures in the tech specs above. On the company website, the item description says that it’s “gray”, but in the specifications, it says “blue/gray”. The description says it has 1000 watts of power, but in the specifications, it says 1200 watts. The description says the cord is 10 feet long, but in the specifications it says it’s 8 feet long.
Finally, the description says the water tank is 90ml, but in the specifications, it says it’s 250ml. It’s almost as if they copied and pasted the tech specs from a different product into the page for this one. None of that really changes much about the product itself, but if you are going to the site to read about it so you can make a purchasing decision, you may come away a little confused. None of this affects the use of the product. It’s just a little peculiar is all.
The execution of the design here is just great. I love the form factor of this thing. It’s small enough as it is, but the folding handle just adds to its portability.
That said, it is quite heavy. One should assume as much, given that its first stated function is as an iron. Irons are heavy. They do tout its travel friendly size, and while I won’t take that away from them, you will still have to consider its weight when packing. At just over 3 pounds you will especially want to consider this if you are flying and have a weight limit to adhere to. Honestly, I wish they made a version of this without the iron. That would drastically reduce the weight, and you would still be able to tackle wrinkled clothing and sweater pilling.
While we are on the topic of travel, it’s worth remembering that you also need to bring the included cup that has a fill line on it to ensure you don’t overfill the water reservoir. Ultimately, it is one more thing to have to bring. They could have put a fill line on the reservoir itself and eliminated the cup altogether. Now, could you just fill it once with the cup, remember how much you filled it, and just fill it to there every time after? Sure. But if this is in fact your travel garment tool you may only be using it on occasion. I don’t know about you, but there is no way I would remember where that level is.
That water reservoir is also a bit too small. I know I just talked about how much I like the size of this 3-in-1, but I do wish it held just a bit more water. As mentioned in the opening of this review, there are two different volumes, and I can tell you definitively, there is no way it’s even close to 250ml. I only did a shirt, so it was enough, but if you have a larger garment, you may have to refill the reservoir multiple times.
I do really like that this came with a steam pad. Often you need to put a garment on a hanger and hang it on the back of a door. With the pad, you can place it behind the garment and not worry about also blasting a bunch of hot steam into the door. Which, depending on the build of the door, could cause some damage. It comes with a rod that slides into the top of the pad to hold it open and make sure it doesn’t droop. The only issue is that the rod breaks down into two pieces. Once you get it in, and then go to pull it out, it will 100% of the time come apart and then you have a piece of it kind of stuck in the pad. It’s not exactly hard to get out. You have to scrunch the top of the pad to get at the end of the piece that is still there. Not a huge deal, but not ideal either.
There is also not really a way to attach the pad to a door. I had to drape the straps over the door and close the door to hold it in place.
Performance
Let’s start with the iron function. The iron worked well, but there is no temperature setting. If you are using this one a regular cotton tee shirt or something similar it works fine, but if you have something delicate you will have to be careful. That said, it does not get quite as hot as a dedicated iron. So you might be ok with those delicates. Just watch it. On the whole the iron gets the job done. You just might have to take an extra pass over the garment for good measure.
As for the steamer, it steams things. However, it is going to fare better on lighter, more flowing fabrics than, say, on a button-down shirt. This could be a similar issue as was with the iron; it just doesn’t get the steam quite hot enough for thicker cotton items. Now, if you used the steamer and then went back over it with the iron afterwards, that will get you pretty close, but it’s not going to be wedding tux crisp. Although I don’t think any steamer and iron is going to get you to that point. Those situations call for a professional cleaner, I think.
It says you get 7 minutes of steam before you need to refill, but I only got about 5 and a half minutes, and that only did one side of the shirt. Not a huge discrepancy, but it could be the difference needed to finish a garment or having to refill to finish. And you are supposed to wait for it to cool down before refilling the reservoir. I waited about 20 minutes and it was still kind of hot to the touch, but I was able to put more water in at that point. And then I got another 5-ish minutes. So all in about 30 minutes to do a shirt. So just don’t wait until the last minute and think this is going to get you there in no time. I may have been able to put more water in sooner, but I’m not in the habit of burning myself, so I may have been a little overly cautious.
What I did really like about this is that when it stated sputtering it did not then squirt water all over the shirt. Which is the case with some cheaper steamers. Or even some steamers in the same price point.
The shaver is great, and definitely comes out as the highlight of the product. I think the weight of it pushes down and helps smooth out the fabric. It’s not as portable as most other battery-powered shavers because it has to plug into the wall, but this results in more power and better performance. The only real negative is that it’s a little difficult to empty out because of the design. But on the whole, it’s magnitudes better than a dedicated shaver.
Final thoughts
All in all, for the price, the ReviveSystem 3-in-1 iron, steamer, and shaver is pretty fantastic. The size alone is a huge selling point, as you get to bring one item and use it for a multitude of issues. Another positive is that using it at home will result in far fewer trips to the dry cleaners. You may still have to dry clean your items on occasion, but this will greatly reduce that expense.
What I like about ReviveSystem 3-in-1
- Small size
- Sweater shaver is great
- Does a little of everything
- Folding design
What needs to be improved?
- Weight
- Small water reservoir (with no fill line)
- Needs to get hotter
