REVIEW – My desk at home has too much going on. It’s one of those desks you look at, but don’t touch for fear you’ll upset the delicate ecosystem. I have things where I like them, and that doesn’t always allow for wiggle room. The BENFEI laptop stand with USB-C 6-in-1 docking station gives me the ability to clean some things up, move things around, and hopefully, create a zen place to work.

Design and features
The BENFEI laptop stand with USB-C 6-in-1 docking station has some great features. It allows the casual user to sit down, adjust the height and angle of their laptop, plug it in, and it’s ready to go. The extra ports help to keep your desk clean and organized. The HDMI is 4K@60Hz making it easy to add an extra monitor. The PD, or Power Delivery, is 100W and allows up to 90W for laptop charging. There are four USB-A ports on the front to give easy access.
The stand itself is beautifully created with aluminum alloy. Anti-skid silicone is placed strategically to keep your laptop from sliding, and protects against scratches or accidents.
This stand feels indestructible. It is heavy-duty and not easy to adjust. They claim the weight limit is 4.5 kilograms, about 10 pounds, but it feels like it should be able to hold something much heavier. Hopefully your laptop doesn’t weigh more than 10 pounds, but if it did, this stand could definitely accept the challenge.
The USB-C cord is made from a soft silicone and woven cable. It is 21.6 inches, 55cm, and feels like it would be able to reach any side that needed to be plugged in. With my current setup, I have two monitors and my laptop all connected. Other things that I regularly have plugged in include mouse and keyboard, charging station for controllers or headphones, speakers, sometimes a webcam, and the random odds and ends that just need to be plugged in. The BENFEI laptop stand with USB-C 6-in-1 docking station allows me to plug almost everything into the dock and make my laptop more portable. I travel frequently and it is so nice to be able to just unplug one or two things, and everything else stays the same. That way when I come back instead of readjusting and plugging in everything all over again, I just have to use the stand and plug in my laptop and extra monitor.
There are some things that would’ve been a nice addition. Those would include the ability to plug in an ethernet cord. With more and more laptops being too thin to add an ethernet port, this would make a very appealing addition to version 2.0. Another idea would be to add an SD slot. There is a major lack of SD card slots on many popular brands of laptops.
So many things about this stand I love. I want to use it, but for my current setup, I think it actually takes more space than it saves. My laptop charges from the back, and having the cord sticking straight back loses space. Because my laptop is so far forward, anything extra that I plug in on the front sticks out onto my keyboard and I have to adjust everything to the side. I wish the base could rotate and I would be able to plug in whatever I wanted, and it wouldn’t intrude on precious space.
Final thoughts
There are a lot of great features here, but also room for improvement. Maybe the way things are built currently is the only way it would work. I don’t know. I love the plug and play ability. The extra USB and HDMI are life savers. Having the ports on the front might allow for easy access, but it also means that all my cords, or jump drives, are now pointing straight into the most popular portion of my desk. However, it also works amazingly as an iPad holder, and that gives me a lot more room to work.

- I don’t love the USBs in front. It would be just as easy to plug into the side, or in the center pointing in.
