REVIEW – I own several power banks, but I always seem to be looking for one that’s charged and ready to go. Additionally, most of the power banks I’ve accumulated are not fast chargers and seem to take forever with the newer fast-charge devices. The UGREEN 300W 48000mAh Power Bank came up for review and purported to address a lot of those issues. Read on to see how it performed!

Design and features
The design of this power bank is interesting. It’s not something you can throw in your back pocket or easily slip into a purse, but I don’t think that’s a problem in this case. One of my kids called it a battery purse, and with the handle it comes with that’s not too far from the truth. It’s easy to pick up and carry around with you when you need to charge something and the port selection is nice. 5 ports to charge with is great. The most difficult thing is carrying the corresponding cables!
Setup
Setup of this power bank was as easy as plugging it into the nearest USB-C charger. The power bank came with a 240W rated USB-C to C cable, but no charger. That’s not a big deal because there are quite a few around the house nowadays. UGREEN has its own recommended 140W charger (sold separately), but I found that a regular fast charger worked just fine. I even used the USB-C charger from a laptop and that worked well. The below picture was from just a normal fast charger. Overnight charging took it to 100 percent.
Performance
This charger worked great with a wide range of devices. Fast charging is excellent. I also used it to charge an HP laptop up and it performed admirably well. One full charge was a significant drain on the battery, but it was able to fully charge it with power remaining. The below pictures show me starting it off with about a 15 percent charge and taking it up to a 95 percent charge with plenty remaining on the charger.
For devices that need a lower wattage, you can put the power bank into trickle charge mode that outputs a lower wattage.
Charging the battery is pretty simple. Using a laptop charger, it took a bit over two hours to go from 0 to 84 percent.
The included light on the side is another nice touch. It has 3 settings, Low/High/SOS. It can run for 150 hours on low, 115 hours on high, and 115 hours on SOS Mode. SOS mode is a bright strobing light for emergency situations.
What I like about the UGREEN 300W 48000mAh Power Bank
- It can charge my laptop!
- The massive storage capacity can charge multiple devices several times over
- Fast charging for multiple devices at a time
- While it is a larger, heavier power bank, it is still very portable
What needs to be improved?
- Nothing. I have no issues with this device.
Final thoughts
This is a great power bank. I have been nothing but impressed with the performance and capacity of this device. Being able to charge my laptop without having to be tethered to a wall outlet is fantastic. Fast charging for multiple devices is also a big plus. Keeping it in the car for trips with multiple kids and assorted devices is going to be great.
