att tl86109 e1273076509692For those of us that haven’t given up our analog landline phone in favor of going totally cellular, AT&T is debuting several new DECT 6.0 handsets including the TL86109 shown here. These phones can pair with your mobile phone via Bluetooth so that you can answer both your landline and cell calls with one handset. I reviewed a similar product from Vtech last fall and found the additional functionality to be really handy. The TL86109 can be paired with up to 4 devices and can be expanded with up to 12 wireless handsets (using just one phone jack). This model also includes an answering machine and is priced at $169.95. It will be available sometime this month and will sell through Staples, Best Buy and other locations.

AT&T CORDLESS PHONE SYSTEMS CONVERGE HOME AND CELLULAR CALLS WITH FEATURE-RICH DECT 6.0 MODELS
2010 Phone Line Consolidates Telecommunications for Homes and Small Offices/Home Offices

BEAVERTON, Ore
., May 4, 2010 – Advanced American Telephones (AAT), which manufactures AT&T-branded telephones under a license agreement with AT&T Intellectual Property, today announced the availability of its 2010 DECT 6.0 product line, featuring industry-leading talk range and BLUETOOTH®-enabled phones that can accommodate cellular and landline calls in an all-in-one systems.

“We designed the new AT&T cordless phones to address the challenges with cellular phone use in the home – without sacrificing the usability, range and loaded features consumers depend on in landline products,” said Matt Ramage, senior vice president, product management, Advanced American Telephones. “By combining several useful features, we’ve created solutions that deliver the best of both worlds for any household or small office/home office.”

AT&T TL86109: Combining High-End Features for Small/Home Office Use
The new AT&T TL86109 two-line corded/cordless phone system merges DECT 6.0 technology with BLUETOOTH capabilities, enabling users to make and receive both landline and cellular calls though the system, offering the most convenient and crystal-clear communication. For under $200, users can easily manage all calls with one device while at home or in the home/small office.

With the TL86109, consumers can register up to four BLUETOOTH devices such as cell phones, smart phones and wireless headsets, and two cellular phones can be connected to the TL86109 at one time. This feature allows users to take a landline call on one handset, while using another handset for a cellular call simultaneously.

In addition to its cellular call capabilities, the TL86109 is capable of downloading up to 6,000 cellular phonebook directory entries, eliminating the need to re-enter cellular contacts on the home phone manually. The TL86109 is expandable with up to 12 cordless handsets using the TL86009 accessory handset (sold separately), ensuring accessibility to calls anywhere in the home or small office.

AT&T TL92270: In-Home Solution for Heavy Cell Phone Users
Similar to the TL86109, the new AT&T TL92270 is an excellent solution for busy consumers who primarily use cell phones at their home or small office. The BLUETOOTH-enabled TL92270 can connect with up to four BLUETOOTH-enabled devices and includes two handsets. Users can enjoy uninterrupted calls anywhere in the home or office without having to keep their cell phones on them.

Featuring unsurpassed talk range of up to 2,200 feet, the TL92270 delivers maximum range – 45 percent better than competing models, according to a recent independent study by Wyle Laboratories. Also, the TL92270 can connect a landline call on one handset while connecting a cell call on another handset, acting as a virtual two-line phone and ensuring that calls will not be missed or dropped while at home.

AT&T CL82300 and AT&T TL32100: Optimized for Better Sound, Readability
The new TL32100 has been designed for ease-of-use by consumers of all ages.  This phone system features Audio Assist, which allows consumers to temporarily increase call volume using an equalizer or choose from four audio profiles for the clearest calls possible. For better readability, the TL32100 has an extra-large, white backlit LCD display, as well as bright visual ringers to signal incoming calls.  Finally, for consumers who often find themselves on the other end of indecipherable voicemails, the TL32100 offers a “slow” playback option for digital answering system messages.

The three-handset AT&T CL82300 rounds out this year’s lineup, combining  impressive talk range, expandability with up to 12 handsets, sleek design and other convenient calling features.

  2. So the question I have: Does it still work if I _don’t_ plug it in to the landline?

Then I could put my cell phone on it’s charge dock and still hear it ring in time to answer it anywhere in the house.

  3. I’ve got the model 92378.

I’ll test it later tonight and let you know about using it without a landline connection.

But I have a feeling it will work.

  4. Tested it out.

You don’t need a land line to get the cell phone to transfer its ring to the AT&T devices.

So the cell phone can stay charging while you answer it anywhere in the house.
