VIDEO REVIEW – Last year I purchased a replica of the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade grail diary from a link on Facebook. The book was a dud in more ways than one, so I wrote a review and also posted a flip through video of it on YouTube. Mark of Ramseyprops saw my review and contacted me to offer a “real” grail diary replica to review and I didn’t hesitate to say yes, yes, yes! Let’s take a look to see if you get what you pay for!

Design and features

The Ramseyprops Indiana Jones Grail Diary replica arrives as you see above, packaged in craft paper that is secured with twine. The label and stamps on the packaging for the Chinese version of the grail diary was just printed on brown craft paper, while the Ramseyprops version has a real label and real-looking stamps attached to the package. So we’re already off to a better start with the Ramseyprops version.

But it gets so much better…

Wow, look at that! The Ramseyprops diary is a REAL leatherbound book. It feels wonderful, looks wonderful, and even smells wonderful! Just look at the way it’s been aged and weathered to look old.

It’s a chunky book filled with awesomeness!

The pages of the grail diary are crinkly, browned, and aged (all by hand!) to make the diary look like it’s been well used for many years.

There are so many extras inside like tickets, newspaper clippings, monument rubbings (see the video below), maps, and even…

Bank notes that look and FEEL so real! According to Mark of Ramseyprops:

…we’ve even managed to made a few improvements to our diaries…we recently discovered a new paper that, once we’ve put it through the aging process, adds a good 3/4″ thickness to our diaries. Also, the foreign banknotes in our diaries are printed on the new paper, and it makes them look and feel authentic. We were so happy with it that we’ve added 5 new banknotes to the insert inventory, and redesigned 3 we already had. We’ve also redesigned a few other inserts as well.

Final thoughts

At $250, the Ramseyprops Indiana Jones Grail Diary replica is not something everyone can afford, but for someone who is a huge fan of the Indiana Jones movies, you can’t get much closer to the real movie prop than this one. Even Harrison Ford thought it was cool (see the video above for an explanation).
