Sleek. Elegant. Expensive. These terms have all been used to describe the iPad itself, and they also apply to the Joule stand from ElementCASE. The Joule is machined from solid aluminum in the USA, and it’s available in either a polished finish or a black anodized finish. There are rubber grips on the bottom of the Joule for stability, velvet lining in the holding recess, and a magnetically attached tilting leg on the back for angle adjustment. The iPad can be used in either portrait or landscape orientation. The Joule is so stable, the iPad won’t tip even when you use the touch screen. The Joule is available from ElementCASE for $129 but you can use a discount code (C7S97K6A89JC4) to bring the price down to $99 for the first 100 readers.

It really is a beautiful stand, but $130? For that price, I could have doubled the capacity of my iPad or gotten the 3G version.
Makes me wonder how much it would cost me to have something identical built at my local machine shop.
Very cool… very pricey!
I’m sure we’ll see more nifty desktop stands. I’m on the lookout for one…
