REVIEW I do not sleep well when I’m hot. I use a thin blanket and always have a fan on at night. I even have a special cooling pillow so when I saw a blanket that can keep you cool I jumped at the chance to try it out. Let’s see if the Elegear Cooling Arc-Chill blanket can help me beat the heat.

What is it?

The Elegear Cooling Arc-Chill is a specially designed double-sided blanket that has a Q-max rating of 0.45 which is designed to transfer heat away from your body and through the material more efficiently than a normal blanket. It is supposed to reduce your temperature by about 9℉.

What’s in the box?

  • One queen size Elegear Cooling Arc-Chill blanket

Specifications:

  • Weight: 4 lbs
  • Dimensions: Queen 86” x 79” inches tested, Twin/Full 79” x 59” also available
  • Machine Washable, not dryer safe
  • Material: Surface- 90% nylon and 10% spandex, Filling- 100% polyester, Back- 100% polyester
  • Q-max value: 0.45

Design and Features:

One side of the Elegear Cooling blanket features Japanese Arc-Chill fabric with a Q-max rating of 0.45 that allows for heat to transfer away from your body. For reference cotton has a Q-max rating of 0, silk is 0.2, and bamboo is 0.3. The other side features a soft knitted fabric for those cooler nights where you don’t want or need the cooling effect. You can definitely feel the coolness of the fabric when you touch it. Almost like touching a cool piece of metal.

I was a bit skeptical at first but it does work. It won’t constantly keep cooling you off but you can tell a difference and when you reach normal temperature moving the Elegear Cooling Arc-Chill blanket will expose a new piece of fabric and will cool you down again. Similar to switching to the cool side of your pillow.

What I like

  • Actually works
  • Not too thick or heavy

What I’d change

  • Add a king size option

Final Thoughts

I like this blanket. I normally use a very thin fleece blanket during the cooler months and just a sheet in the summer but with a heat wave hitting the Pacific Northwest the Elegear Cooling Arc-Chill Comforter is now my go to blanket for summer and probably will keep using it in winter. I highly recommend it if you prefer colder temps when you sleep.
