CROWDFUNDING REVIEW – You know how much we love our EDC gear here on The Gadgeteer and what’s one of the most important items in our EDC? Our wallet! Today I want to show you the Vext Slim wallet which is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.
What is it?
The Vext Slim Wallet is a minimalist wallet that been specially designed to carry a selection of your most used credit cards, some folded bills, and even key or another small item.
Design and features
Available in several colors, including the rose color that was sent to me, the Vext Slim is made of either bead-blasted aluminum or glossy finished carbon fiber.
The wallet is designed with an open top and bottom. Up to 9 cards are inserted from either direction and are held in the wallet by the sides and friction. You might wonder why you would want the bottom and top to be open, but that’s the beauty of this wallet’s design. The open ends allow you to easily and quickly access your cards. You can use your thumb to slide the top card up and out of the wallet or slide all the cards down so that you can sort through them.
You can even use the chip in a card without fully removing it from the wallet.
Still use cash? No problem. There’s a wide elastic band on the back of the Vext wallet that can hold some folded cash. There’s even a pocket in the elastic band that you can use to carry a key, a memory card, small store/gym membership cards, etc.
What I like
- Quick access
- Can hold cash and another small item in addition to cards
What I’d change
- Make it narrower
Final thoughts
I like everything about the Vext Slim Wallet except the width. I wish it wasn’t quite so wide. But that’s a minor complaint and more of a personal preference than an actual problem with the wallet.
The Vext Wallet campaign ends on 4/11/20 and they are working towards their funding goal of $7,500. You can pre-order a Vext Wallet starting at $30. After the Vext Wallet campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in July 2020. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Nice video – clearly shows the best features. I agree with you that it is a bit wide.
