CROWDFUNDING NEWS – This week we are bringing you info about three different crowdfunding campaigns that are currently running on Kickstarter. This week’s campaigns are for survival gear, an accessory for mobile warriors, and more.

AXXIS HAND AXE: Survival Knife & EDC Camp Axe In Your Pocket

What is it?

Axxis is a uniquely designed hand axe made of cold-forged D2 tool steel that can also be used as knife or cleaver.

Why is it cool?

I think the Axxis hand axe is cool because it’s a multi-tool. Lash it to a stick and it’s an axe or cleaver. The unique pattern of holes in the tool allows you to grip it in your hand to use as a knife or a chopper. Be sure to watch the video above. It’s hilarious. Very chauvinistic, but funny.

After the Axxis hand axe campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in October 2020. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Why is it cool?

ZIRUX Charger X isn’t just an ordinary power brick with PD (power delivery) for your gadgets, it’s also a 10,000mAh backup battery with 3 USB ports, a micro SD card reader for fast file transfer to your devices, and it has GaN tech also means that it’s FAA approved for carry-on.

Luma :: Digital Sundial

What is it?

Luma is a sundial that casts a digital clock with its shadow and it has a built-in digital thermometer.

Why is it cool?

Luma might look familiar to you if you have been reading The Gadgeteer for awhile. We actually posted news about the original concept for this product back in 2016 when we posted a link about 3D printing your own sundial. But if you don’t have a 3D printer, the Luma campaign lets you buy a ready-made one. It’s definitely a conversation starter.

The Luma campaign ends on 3/12/20 and they have already met their funding goal of $1,512. You can pre-order a Luma starting at $45. After the Luma campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in April 2020. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
