Home cooks with hand dexterity issues can now chop vegetables with ease using the Cibocal cutting board. These 15 ½” x 11” x 1/2” cutting boards feature a special spring loaded bar that you can wedge the tip of your cook or chef’s knife under to provide a pivot. Your knife then becomes a lever for easy and safe chopping that is perfect for people with arthritis, like the inventor, or other hand strength issues. The board is made from Densetec™ a HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) that has been FDA approved for food applications, is dishwasher safe and can stands unsupported on a bench, shelf or cupboard for easy air drying.
With shipping to the US, the cost of the Cibocal cutting board is NZ $128.00. That converts to $164 US. I know that’s insanely expensive for a cutting board, so I’m waiting to hear back from them to see if there are plans to make these boards available from retailers here in the US. Visit Cibocal for more info.
