Ok, this came out of left field… Chris Pirillo of lockergnome fame has teamed up with Mighty Leaf Tea company to create a smooth and energizing green tea called Geekalicious. The description is a genmaicha-style loose tea, blended with Japanese green tea and popped and toasted rice, a unique combination of green tea leaves and rice that produces a sweet, nutty and refreshing infusion. You can try the tea for $9.95. What do you think? Should I review it? Or maybe figure out how to get a gadgeteer flavor? Hmmmm 😉

It’s yummy, and there’s only limited quantities. 🙂
@Chris I’ve never tried tea with rice in it… Sounds like a meal and a beverage in one handy tin 😉
“sweet, nutty” … sounds like you’ve got Chris pegged! LOL!
Now if you could just add the “geek” quality…well, come to think of it, maybe not.
Check it out and let us know what you think!
Argh…..
When ever I click the link it takes me to the UK site, and the UK site doesnt show it….
I am now in need of a geeky beverage!

Anyone for Julie Beer?
@Geakz Hahahaha, Gadgeteer Micro Brew?
Hi Josh from the UK,
Send us an e-mail at
cu*************@mi********.com
and we can assist with sending you Geekalicious in the UK.
I would love it if you would review it. Sounds like an interesting blend to me. Maybe you could get them to send you a sample to review!
@ItsAboutTea I’ll ask 🙂
As a geek and tea geek, I’d love a Gadgeteer tea.. and would likely buy many tins for friends! Especially if the proceeds went to some sort of charity… like Pleo designers* who are out of work 😉
* hehehehehe I’m mostly joking there, although I adore the Pleo, and will miss it greatly, I’m sure a more worthy organization could be found.
@julie
I forgot to add: If you do review it, make sure to try it in different types of tea devices. I imagine the rice would taste if made with a tea press in comparison to team made with a tea ball or stick.
Ooh, green tea! My favourite!
I’ve become addicted to this stuff since having my first cup a few months ago… no longer do I prefer an espresso…. it has to be green all the way now! 🙂
This brew sounds delicious!!
@James I prefer white or black tea myself. 🙂
Geek Tea. Sweet!
It’s a great combination but not by any means a UNIQUE one. Since the Japanese prefer trad My Japanese MIL regularly gave it to my husband as a child and that was 40 years ago. Since the Japanese prefer tradition over innovation in things like tea, I’d say it has been around for quite some time.
