The Slate 7 is the newest Android tablet from HP. The Slate 7 has a “fully-featuered” 7″ screen and front and rear cameras. The back is made of painted stainless steel, which probably explains why this small tablet weighs 13 ounces. This tablet runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), and as HP says, it’s capable of running anything you find in the Google Play store. Beats Audio means the Slate 7 produces “the best sounding, richest audio available on a tablet.” It will be available in April 2013 in the US, and it will have a $169 starting price. I hunted these specs down:
ARM Dual Core Cortex-A9 1.6 GHz processor
8GB of on-board storage
micro-USB port
micro SD expandable card slot
1024 by 600, High-aperture-ratio Field Fringe Switching (HFFS) panel) Whatever that means… 🙂
three-megapixel camera on the back and a front-facing VGA camera
There was no mention of how much RAM is available… 🙁
Elsewhere it’s shown as having 1GB of RAM.
