Android phone owners have many laptop options, but few designed around phone integration. Googlebook combines Android apps and phone features with Chrome, Gemini, Linux tools, and premium hardware, using desktop foundations from ChromeOS. Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo are launching five models.
Prices start at $899, putting most models against premium Windows laptops and MacBooks. Preorders are open, with U.S. availability on October 4 and launches in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia on October 5.
Here are the five launch models.
1. Acer Googlebook 14
The Acer Googlebook 14 is the least expensive model at $899 and the only convertible in the lineup. Its 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen folds back for laptop or tablet-style use, a practical match for Googlebook’s touch-focused Android apps.
Acer uses Intel Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processors, paired with 16GB of memory and at least 256GB of storage. The chassis combines aluminum and magnesium, and the display is rated at 500 nits. A fingerprint sensor handles biometric authentication.
It is the least expensive model, but Google positions it as a premium laptop rather than a budget Chromebook. PCWorld praised the lineup’s responsiveness and Acer’s touchscreen, while battery life, app compatibility, and convertible value still need longer testing.
Buyer fit: The Acer is the best entry point for Googlebook OS and the clearest choice for buyers who want a convertible Android-focused laptop.

2. Dell XPS Googlebook
The Dell XPS Googlebook is a compact premium ultraportable with a 13.4-inch 2.5K IPS touchscreen, Snapdragon X Elite, 16GB to 32GB of memory, and at least 512GB of storage. It is listed from $999 at Google, although some launch coverage lists a $1,199 starting price. The machined-aluminum chassis includes a haptic touchpad and fingerprint sensor.
The XPS is also a test of Googlebook on Arm. Android is familiar with Arm hardware, but desktop Chrome, Linux, battery life, and software polish still need independent testing. Hands-on reports praise the compact chassis, but they come from limited preview time.
Buyer fit: The Dell suits buyers who want a compact premium Googlebook with Snapdragon hardware and an IPS display.

3. ASUS Googlebook 14
The ASUS Googlebook 14 is built around portability. At approximately 2.2 pounds (1kg), it is the lightweight specialist of the launch lineup.
ASUS pairs that low weight with a 14-inch high-resolution OLED touchscreen rated at 500 nits, with up to 1,000 nits peak HDR brightness. Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processors are available, along with 16GB to 32GB of memory and storage starting at 256GB. The chassis combines aluminum and magnesium and includes a haptic touchpad and fingerprint sensor.
Its low weight fits Googlebook’s phone-centered pitch, but the ASUS starts at $1,299, which is $400 above the Acer. Buyers are paying more for the lighter chassis, OLED display, materials, and configuration options.
Keyboard quality, battery endurance, thermal behavior, display accuracy, and sustained performance still need proper independent testing before the ASUS can be judged against similarly priced Windows and macOS ultraportables.

4. HP Googlebook 14
The HP Googlebook 14 combines Snapdragon X Elite hardware with a larger OLED screen than Dell provides.

Google claims up to 14 hours of video playback and 16 hours of web browsing across the lineup; those controlled figures do not guarantee real-world HP battery life. Full testing is still needed for performance, heat, and software compatibility.

5. Lenovo Googlebook 15
The Lenovo Googlebook 15 targets working space with the lineup’s largest display: a 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen that leaves more room for browsers, documents, Android apps, and split-screen work.
Lenovo uses an Intel Core Ultra 5 Series 3 processor with 16GB of memory in the starting configuration. Its chassis combines magnesium alloy and carbon fiber, while biometric options include both a fingerprint sensor and facial authentication. A haptic touchpad is also included.
Despite having the largest screen in the group, sources list the Lenovo at roughly 2.7 to 2.8 pounds (1.22kg), depending on the configuration. That is unusually light for a 15.3-inch machine and makes the Lenovo particularly interesting for people who want more display space without moving to a conventionally heavy large-screen laptop.
The Lenovo Googlebook 15 starts at $1,099, placing it between the Dell and the $1,299 ASUS and HP models. Its larger OLED display and unusually light design are therefore its main reasons to consider it over the smaller Googlebooks.
The larger screen also tests whether Android apps scale convincingly beyond phone and tablet dimensions. Googlebook includes desktop windowing, but app quality will still depend partly on developers.
Buyer fit: The Lenovo is the clearest choice for buyers who want the largest screen without a conventionally heavy laptop.

The laptop matters, but Googlebook OS matters more
These five laptops share Googlebook OS but target different buyers: Acer is the affordable convertible; Dell is the compact Snapdragon option; ASUS prioritizes low weight; HP pairs Snapdragon with a 14-inch OLED display; and Lenovo brings a larger screen without the usual size penalty. All have touchscreens, at least 16GB of memory, premium materials, Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or Snapdragon X Elite processors, and Google’s Glowbar.
The real question is whether Googlebook OS justifies premium-laptop pricing. It combines Android apps and phone integration with desktop Chrome, Gemini, and Linux tools, but its value will depend on app compatibility and how much the phone features improve daily use.
These first Googlebooks are early-adopter products as much as conventional laptops. Independent reviews still need to test battery life, sustained performance, and software polish before Googlebook can be judged against Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS.
