The Retekess TC202 Conference Room Camera is a PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) design that is sleek and well-built. It measures just 144mm × 144mm × 166.89mm and weighs approximately 1.41kg. It can be mounted via its built-in tripod mount to a tripod or the included wall mount, or just placed on a desk. It offers a motorized 12x optical and 16x digital zoom, and a rotating head capable of 340° horizontal and 120° vertical motion. There is a lens on the front of the camera and adequate ventilation on the bottom. On the rear of the base are ports for USB 3.0, HDMI, network, and PoE connections, along with status LEDs. There is also a built-in infrared receiver for remote control.

Performance
The Retekess TC202 Conference Room Camera delivers excellent performance, providing clear and crisp image quality, along with the option to mount in different ways depending on the need. The camera features a 1080P ultra-high-definition sensor that not only provides clear video but also accurately replicates colors to provide an overall closely comparable result. It works well in less-than-optimal lighting, and its 12x optical zoom and 16x digital zoom allow it to capture the intended/subject/object within my space without losing any detail. I say within my space because the capability of Zoom is relative to distance.
This Retekess camera has built-in AI-powered auto-tracking technology, which is designed to automatically identify and focus on active speakers within the room. This AI is always a welcome capability if the camera is used to capture various moving subjects. I could not test this feature extensively because my office/studio is small and does not require tracking when I am in meetings. If it is used in a smaller space like mine, the broad horizontal and vertical field of view, along with the 340° horizontal and 120° vertical rotation capabilities, ensure that I can cover all my studio/office space.
The camera supports multiple connection options, including USB 3.0, HDMI, NET, and PoE, enabling flexible setup and easy integration into existing networks and environments. I use it with MS Teams, but it can be used with all the major conference applications, and from my testing, it can be used with any video switcher.
There are multiple ways to mount the camera, including on a desktop, wall, and tripod, and controlling the pan and tilt can be done via the included remote control or a compatible Joystick Controller since the camera does offer VISCA protocol control.
Overall, the Retekess TC202 stands out for its intelligent tracking, wide coverage, and easy integration. It is very capable of offering reliable and high-quality video conferencing for small to medium-sized conference rooms, as well as handling the needs for other types of video productions. Its combination of image clarity, zoom capability, and connectivity makes it a versatile solution for both personal and professional video conferencing and production needs.
Final thoughts
The Retekess TC202 Conference Room Camera works well as a PTZ camera option for video conferencing and as a studio camera for recording multiple views and/or participants. It is well built, and the video quality is very good. At this price point, it is a good value.
