What is it?
This is a series of fun character-branded sling bags and Quick Release Ring keyrings from Orbitkey in collaboration with Disney.
Disney Urban Slings
Orbitkey is offering four 4L sling bags that feature whimsical designs like the Mickey Mouse version that we see here. Also available are Donald Duck, Woody, and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.
This sling bag is constructed of water-resistant, recycled polyester materials and YKK zippers. The Disney look is obvious, but there’s also a small Orbitkey tag on the side.
There’s also a small Disney logo on the strap above the metal ring that you can use to attach your Quick Release Ring (which I’ll show you in a bit). None of the branding is over the top, which gets a thumbs up from me.
The zippers have nice pulls with heat-shrunk ends to prevent the ugly frayed look that often occurs after long-term use.
The front of the Urban Sling bag (red part) unzips to reveal a roomy storage area with Disney-themed lining, a cable pass-through from the back zippered pocket in the upper left corner, and a small key loop in the upper right corner.
Below are two stretch mesh pockets, and a zippered stretchy mesh pocket is located on the front panel, sized for earbuds or sunglasses. You’ll also notice a tag that has the Disney and Orbitkey branding. This tag isn’t sewn on the sides, so it could be used to hold a pen.
Flipping the bag over, you’ll see Mickey’s signature and another zippered pocket.
This pocket zippered compartment has two open pockets for organization and it also has the same Disney lining as the other section on the front of the sling.
The 4L Urban Sling is medium-sized and is large enough to hold all your EDC gear like your phone, wallet, sunglasses, earbuds, flashlight, iPad mini, notebook, pens, and more. But if it feels a bit too large, there’s the mini Sling.
Unfortunately, there are only two options for the Mini Sling: Minnie Mouse (shown here) and Alien from Toy Story. You get the same vibrant, iconic patterns and graphics that are instantly recognizable.
This bag is pretty much identical to the 4L version, besides the obvious size difference. Inside are the same pass-through hole, key loop, two open-topped mesh pockets, and a shallow zippered pocket.
The back has Minnie’s signature and another zippered pocket.
The back pocket features a single open compartment.
I’m more of a minimalist, so I prefer the smaller size of the mini Sling which has half the capacity of 2L. Even though it’s smaller, it has no problem holding my iPhone 16 Pro Max, wallet, pen, Field Notes notebook, and more.
Quick Release Ring
I reviewed the Orbitkey Quick Release Ring almost 3 years ago, and I have to say that this new version is way more fun with bright enameled graphics. There are six versions of the Disney-themed Quick Release Rings: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Buzz Lightyear, Alien, Jessie, and Woody.
These Quick Release Rings are designed to be easier to use than traditional fingernail-splitting keyrings. Goofy’s head is actually the lock. To open the lock turn the lock so that the indicator is on top and then you just pull upwards on the lock (Goofy’s head).
The lock can then slide down the stainless steel ring to reveal a slot where you can add your keys. To lock the ring, just slide the lock over the split, turn the indicator in the opposite direction, and pull to lock it back in place. It’s simple to do and so much easier than traditional keyrings.
Final thoughts
These bags are well constructed and are designed to carry all your EDC. Although I can’t exactly see myself carrying one of these sling bags in public, I think kids would likely enjoy them, or people visiting Disney World might find them useful. On the other hand, I think the Quick Release Rings are cute and not embarrassing for an adult to use 😉 They had a little fun and whimsy to your keyring, and who doesn’t enjoy a little Disney in their lives?!
