NEWS – Remember the WII? It used your body movements to interact with their games using controllers. The Nex Playground is similar, only you don’t have to use controllers to interact with the Nex Playground games, so it’s more like the Xbox Kinect. All you need is your body. The Nex Playground is a device that connects to your TV using an HDMI cable (included). It uses AI and a wide-angle camera to observe the players’ movements (up to four people) so that the players can interact with the Nex Playground games.
The starter pack includes the device and five games: Fruit Ninja, Go Keeper (you’re a goal keeper), Starri (move to the music), Party Foul (multiple wacky games), and Wack-a-Mole Deluxe.
If you’re family would like to play additional games, you can purchase a Play Pass subscription. With a 3-month ($49) or 12-month pass ($89), you’ll have access to their catalog of 40+ games, like Barbie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, How to Train Your Dragon, Peppa Pig, Care Bears, Elmo, Miraculous Ladybug, Gabby’s Dollhouse, Kung Fu Panda, etc. And there are new games being added each month. Most of the games look like they target the 8-year-old and younger crowd. But there are some games that older kids might like.
You can purchase Nex Playground at Amazon for $199.00, and here’s the link to subscribe to Play Pass, if you’re interested.
