REVIEW – I’m very picky when it comes to buying new jeans, sneakers, and chairs. The common denominator of these three things is comfort. I won’t buy jeans, sneakers, or a chair if it’s uncomfortable to wear, walk in, or sit in. I’ll even pay a premium for a brand I know will tick the comfort box. For jeans, it’s Lee, for sneakers, it’s On, and now my brand of choice for a comfortable office chair is LiberNovo. Let’s take a look at the LiberNovo Omni.

Assembly required

When you order the LiberNovo Omni, it does not arrive fully assembled. Don’t worry, though, because the assembly process is pretty easy. The step-by-step instructions for the chair and the footrest are on large boards instead of a booklet.

The first step was to add the casters to the base. I usually have a heck of a time getting casters to insert into a chair base, but I didn’t have any trouble at all with this one. Then the piston is inserted into the center of the base.

Next, the futuristic-looking back support bar is placed on the piston. Easy peasy.

Then the seat and armrest assembly is placed on the back support bar and there are two screws to secure.

The most challenging part of the entire assembly process was securing the screw shown above. It’s not that it’s super difficult; it’s just tough to do without a second set of hands. I struggled with this step for about 10 minutes before I gave up and asked my better half for help, and one minute later, it was secured.

Connect the USB-C cable from the back support bar to the seat.

The adjustment lever assembly and the tension knob snap easily into place.

We’re almost done. Next up is the back cushion. The bars on the back snap into the back support bar. Again, super easy.

The head support snaps into the top of the back support bar.

The last step is to charge the battery pack with a USB-C cable (not included) and then slide it into the slot below the seat cushion. The battery powers the adjustable lumbar feature.

There are a couple of steps to assembling the footrest, but it only takes a minute or two.

It’s a nice-looking chair, but how does it feel to sit in it all day while working on reviews and other Gadgeteer tasks?

Design and features

libernovo 25

The LiberNovo Omni is insanely comfortable. I have no problems saying it’s the most comfortable office chair I’ve ever sat in. The seat and back cushions are soft and squishy while still being supportive. Pretty much every aspect of this chair can be adjusted.

libernovo 19

Let’s start with the armrests. They slide forward and back, up and down, angle inwards and outwards, and can pivot in and out. The < > buttons on the left armrest allow you to adjust the lumbar section.

The recline lever on the side of the chair has four positions, allowing you to adjust the recline angle. In the relax and stretch modes, it’s even more comfortable to use the footrest. In the stretch mode, if you press the + button on the armrest, you’ll enjoy a 5-minute lumbar and spinal program that is like performing a motorized yoga cat/cow movement with your back. It’s a great way to take a power nap.

The footrest provides a place for feet to rest during normal everyday work, and there’s a padded cushion on a pedestal for reclining.

Even the headrest is adjustable. It can be adjusted inward and outward, and pivots vertically.

Final thoughts

libernovo 26

I’ve reviewed many chairs over the years, and I haven’t kept any of them. I’ve given every chair away because they weren’t comfortable enough to use for 8 hours a day. But that’s not the case with the LiberNovo Omni. This chair is so comfortable that it’s not going anywhere but under my buns 😉 If you’ve had a hard time finding a comfortable chair, I can easily and wholeheartedly recommend this one.

What I like about LiberNovo Omni

  • Easy to assemble
  • Incredibly comfortable
  • Ergonomic – ability to adjust all aspects
  • Multiple adjustments – headrest, lumbar, arm rests, height, recline angle

What needs to be improved?

  • Nothing
