NEWS – Anker is recalling over a million ‘PowerCore 10000’ power pack charger units.

It was a year ago that we reported the recall of multiple Anker power packs, and now serious hazard issues have resurfaced with a different model.

XDA Developers reported the news that PowerCore 10000 units manufactured between January 1st, 2016, and October 30th, 2019, and sold between June 1st, 2016, and December 31st, 2022, in the United States have been affected by the recall.

Check to see if the power bank is a PowerCore 10000, then look for the model specification printed on the device. It should be directly under the name ‘PowerCore 10000’. If yours reads ‘A1263’ you should stop using it immediately.

Anker has a recall form online and it specifies the details and options they’ve arranged for returns, refunds and replacements.

This is not something to ignore. XDA Developers quotes the Consumer Product and Safety Commission, who announced, “Anker has received 19 reports of fires and explosions. This includes two reports of minor burn injuries not requiring medical attention and 11 reports of property damage totaling over $60,700.”
