TOZO PE1 Mini Bluetooth speaker review

REVIEW – I took the time and invested quite a bit of money into building my own custom and lightweight bike for my rehab from total knee replacement surgery and for enjoying the outdoors. Music is always a welcome companion when I ride, and whatever music source I use, it must be lightweight, small, and adaptable to be attached to my bike to my belt, etc. Enter the TOZO PE1 Mini Bluetooth speaker.

Performance

Once I charged the TOZO PE1 Mini Bluetooth speaker, it was easy to connect to my phone via Bluetooth, and I immediately started testing it. I did this even before installing the app. Even without the app, this small speaker is surprisingly powerful, and the sound is well-balanced across all frequencies. The built-in Carabiner is flexible and strong and can be attached to many objects, including a backpack, your belt, or, in my case, my favorite place, the handlebars of my bike. According to Tozo, two of the PE1 speakers can be paired for added power and overall sound. That would be great if I had two. I can easily see using a pair of these speakers when I go to the beach. I did test it with a phone call, and it worked well, but I would not use it that way.

My only issue is the exposed USB-C charging port. I like this speaker, and I am unwilling to pour water into the USB-C port to confirm that it is waterproof. Even if it is, imagine this speaker in the sand on a beach with dirt getting into the port. I think the conventional waterproof rubber cover would be a nice and safe addition. Otherwise, well done.

APP:

Adding the speaker to Bluetooth is straightforward, and the connection is solid. The app allows for versatile customization, and the EQ presets are nice. The following are screenshots from the app:

Final thoughts

The TOZO PE1 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is surprisingly powerful and enjoyable. It is extremely portable and adaptable to be carried just about anywhere. Add the long battery life, and it is a winner.
