REVIEW – When it comes to EDC, my setup has to include a wallet, a flashlight, a knife or multi-tool, a notebook, and a pen. I tend to look for mini versions of each of these items because I don’t like bulk. So when the opportunity to review the OCASO Titanium Mini Pen came up, I was happy to accept it. Let’s check it out.

Design and features

The OCASO Titanium Mini Pen is available in two colors. There is Stonewashed Titanium and Black Titanium. The Stonewashed version has a matte finish while the Black one has a shiny, slick finish.

My favorite is the black version because I like how clear and bright the OCASO logo appears compared to the stonewashed version.

Although these pens are small, they are still pretty comfortable to write with. I didn’t notice any problems with my hand cramping while trying to write with it.

I wouldn’t want to write the next great American novel with this pen, but they work fine for jotting quick notes while on the go.

I’m partial to click or bolt-action pens, but the twist mechanism used with these pens has a nice smooth action.

The OCASO Titanium Mini Pens use D1 refills (a list of compatible refills is included above in the tech specs section). These refills are inexpensive and easy to find on Amazon.

To replace the refill, unscrew the twist cap at the top, pull out the used D1 ink cartridge, and press a new one back in place.

Final thoughts

I’ve liked Big Idea Design’s pens for years, so there’s nothing to complain about here, other than the price, which $13 more than the same pen (minus the OCASO logo) directly from Big Idea Design. I wish that OCASO gave buyers a bit more for their money, like at least one or two extra D1 refills. But other than the pricing issue, this is a great little pen that is well made, designed for easy use, and should last for years and years.

What I like about OCASO Titanium Mini Pen

  • Well made
  • Very compact
  • Smooth twist action
  • Easy to find D1 refills

What needs to be improved?

  • Include a couple of extra refills
