REVIEW – I don’t carry what most women consider a purse, but I do like to use a small crossbody bag to hold my essentials (EDC) when I’m running around in town doing errands or when traveling. I don’t need a lot of gear with me, so I prefer a small bag like the MAGEASY Sacoche bag that I’m going to show you today.
What is it?
The MAGEASY Sacoche bag is a small 2L capacity crossbody style bag that features a variety of pockets and interchangeable straps.
What’s included?
- MAGEASY Sacoche bag with one strap (black)
- Optional additional straps that can also be used to wear a phone around your neck
Design and features
The MAGEASY Sacoche bag is made of Cordura and is available in four colors: cement gray, graphite black, and wild green. I was sent the wild green, which I would rename army green since that’s what it reminds me of.
The front of the Sacoche bag has a flap that covers a YKK zipper that runs the length of the bag.
Unzipping the zipper reveals a bright orange satin interior with three pockets sewn into the bag’s back wall.
Flipping the MAGEASY Sacoche bag around to the back, there’s an open topped pocket that is held closed with a magnetic clasp.
The inside is the same orange satin. There are no organizational pockets except for a small black one in the bottom corner. Can you guess what it’s for?
My best guess is that it’s designed to hold an Apple AirTag, which fits perfectly.
If that were all the pockets this bag offered, I would have been okay with it. But the Sacoche has more to offer.
Here’s a side view of the bag. As you will notice, the bag is designed to fold like a book.
Another magnetic clasp holds the two sides together and when opened, you will find two more zippered pockets.
The top pocket is a see-through mesh pocket with an orange satin interior.
The bottom pocket has two organizational pockets on the back wall. All in all, this bag offers a total of 10 pockets counting the tiny AirTag pocket.
In the image above, you will notice the loops in the “spine” of the folded bag. The adjustable strap attaches to these loops.
The bag I received for review came with a black strap with metal swivel clips.
The MAGEASY Sacoche bag is small, but I found it the perfect size to hold my iPhone 15 Pro Max, a small Field Notes notebook, a pen, my wallet, lip balm, some mints, tissues, Apple AirPods, and a few other doodads without it look lumpy or feeling bulky.
I didn’t think accessing the “inside” pockets would be that convenient, but as you can see from the image above, it’s not difficult and it’s easier than I thought.
MAGEASY sells different straps that you can use with the bag. They sent me an additional yellow and orange strap. The straps they sent are the MAGEASY 2-in-1 Cell Phone Lanyard straps that match the strap that came with the Sacoche bag.
The optional straps include a phone tether tab (shown above) that you can put inside your phone’s case.
As I showed above, the tether has a small metal ring designed to stick out of the phone case’s charging port.
Here it is with the iPhone in the case and the strap attached to the tether. You’ll also notice that the strap has loops sewn into it that you can use to attach other items.
I can see this as being kind of useful when using the strap with the Sacoche bag, but with the phone lanyard, I don’t know if I’d want other things hanging off it. But that’s just me.
What I like about the MAGEASY Sacoche bag
- Lots of pockets
- Interesting design/format
What needs to be improved?
- Nothing
Final thoughts
The MAGEASY Sacoche bag is a small, stylish bag that will hold your most used items when you’re on the go. It’s well made, looks great, and has a decent price. The MAGEASY 2-in-1 Cell Phone Lanyard straps are also well made. I think they are a bit overpriced at $30, but they are a fun way to change out the look of your Sacoche bag or make it more comfortable to “wear” your phone.
Price: $49.99 (bag), $29.99 (strap)
