NEWS – It’s time to upgrade your grill brush to one that uses steam instead of metal bristles. When you use a wire brush, that brush can shed wires on your grill which could end up in your food. The safer option is to use the Grill Rescue Grill Brush. It’s a simple tool that you dunk in water and use the heat of your grill to clean the grates with steam (heat your grill to at least 400 degrees F then turn it off to clean it).
Both the handle and the foam cleaning head are heat resistant. The head even detaches from the handle for easy cleaning. As stated on the Grommet website, “Our long-lasting cleaning heads are made from a heat retardant foam, wrapped in a high temp Aramid Fiber layer to ensure maximum longevity, and they’re dishwasher and washing machine safe!”

I have been using the Grill Rescue Brush for years and recently upgraded to their Rescue Pro which is a little more aggressive. I offer a couple of tips for users: I use one of my stainless prep bowls and fill it with water, put the Rescue Brush In to soak when I fire up my propane grill so it is well saturated when needed. I also leave the grill lit when scrubbing so the flame evaporates any water drippings and helps keep the gas tips clear. Since we grill most of our proteins the grill is used at least 3 times a week and the Rescue Brush cleans the salmon and other seafood off the grates so there is no residue for the next night’s chicken.
