antdesign pathfinder v2 10

REVIEW – I’ve been searching for a really small knife that I can use for opening boxes down in my office (aka Gadgeteer HQ). My criteria are that it has to be small, easy to use, and Gadgeteer worthy. The latest one that I’ve had the chance to review is the Ant Design Pathfinder+ V2 multi-tool. Let’s see if it checks all my boxes.

What is it?

The Ant Design Pathfinder+ V2 is a small key-chain sized multi-tool that you can clip to a pocket, or wear around your neck.

What’s included?

  • Ant Design Pathfinder+ V2 multi-tool
  • Small split ring keyring
  • 5 extra blades

Design and features

antdesign pathfinder v2 5

The Ant Design Pathfinder+ V2 multi-tool has two versions: Alpha and Beta. What are the differences? The Alpha version has a pocket clip and a 1/4-inch bit driver socket.

The Beta version has a quick-release clasp at the top instead of a clip. The Alpha versions of the Pathfinder+ also has a hole drilled at the top that you can use with the included small split ring.

Both multi-tools have three tritium slots if you want a little bling for your tool. The tritium vials are not included but you can buy them from Ant Design and they will install them for you into the Pathfinder+ if you ask them.

The Ant Design Pathfinder+ V2 multi-tool has the following features:

  • Utility knife
  • Pry tool
  • Bottle opener
  • Nail file
  • Inches and MM rulers
  • 1/4-inch bit driver (Alpha version only)

The image above shows the nail file, the bottle opener, and the pry tool. Note that the pry tool can also be used as a flat screwdriver.

The blade extends with a spring-loaded button that slides down the length of the tool. It has two stops, one for just the tip and one for the full length.

antdesign pathfinder v2 7

The Pathfinder+ uses what looks like regular #11 hobby (Xacto) blades.

Five extra blades are included with the multi-tool. Switching out the blades is not hard, but it does require an H 1.5 star bit driver to remove the set screw.

What I like about Ant Design Pathfinder+ V2 multi-tool

  • Nice set of features
  • Well made
  • 5 Extra blades are included

What needs to be improved?

  • Nothing

Final thoughts

antdesign pathfinder v2 8

The Ant Design Pathfinder+ V2 is a small utility knife with extra features that make it a minimal multi-tool for your EDC. It’s well-made and versatile, making it another winner from Ant Design.

  1. Gadgeteer Comment Policy - Please read before commenting
  2. I got the B version. In addition to the spare blades it came with a hex tool to use in replacing the blade, two spare hex screws in case you drop one and can’t find it, and a ring for the swivel. Neat tool.
