NEWS – On Tuesday, Apple announced its next special event. Set for Tuesday, May 7th, at 7:00 AM PT, Apple used the tag line “Let Loose” to announce the event, along with a colorful, artistic Apple logo featuring a hand holding an Apple Pencil.
In a first since the iPad was announced in 2010, Apple had no updates to the iPad lineup in 2023, except for the introduction of a new accessory, a USB-C Pencil. The whole lineup has sat dormant for over a year so everything is up for grabs, but this event is expected to focus on the iPad Pro and iPad Air models, with the Pro long rumored to gain an OLED screen. Updated keyboards, Pencils, and cases are also highly anticipated.
Unusually for an Apple event, this one will take place at 7 AM PT, rather than the usual 10 AM PT. Since this will be an online-only “virtual” event, it will most likely be a pre-recorded video, like many of Apple’s presentations have been since Apple started doing almost exclusively online events in 2020.
The event will be live on apple.com, the TV app on Apple’s various devices, and presumably their YouTube channel as well.
