NEWS – Most multi-tools that we like to review here on The Gadgeteer have features like knives, pliers, and screwdrivers. The Kelvin8 multi-tool is not that kind of tool. This is a handy multi-tool for those times when you might find yourself in a roadside emergency, at home without power due to a storm, or lost in the woods. The Kelvin8 has the following features:
- Rechargeable USB 2000 mAh Lithium powerbank
- Window breaker
- Seat belt cutter
- 100 db siren
- LED emergency flashlight with 4 settings including an SOS signal
- Electronic flare with 4 magnets to attach to your car
- Hand crank power generator
The best part is that the Kelvin8 multi-tool does not have a battery that you have to keep charged in order to use these functions. When you need power, you just crank the fold out handle. The Kelvin8 is $39.99 on Amazon where more than half of the reviews are 5 star reviews.

Have you used it?
No, this isn’t a review. I just saw it and thought it was interesting enough to write about it.
I wonder if they’ve improved the hand-crank generator. I’ve had devices in the past that were more exercise than power generation. It’s handy, but seems less practical. You’d crank until it felt like your shoulder was dead, and get a minute or two of dim light.
Other than that potential drawback, this looks like a useful tool.
