CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Today, I have several interesting Kickstarter campaigns that I think are worth a look, including a unique multi-tool and another quirky and weird one. I surf for cool crowdfunding products, so you don’t have to!

BookBond Pen

As the Gadgeteer, I obviously love gadgets, but I also really love physical notebooks, pens, and other stationery. So much so that my sister, niece, and my better half have regular journal club meetings. Yes, we’re dorks! So when I saw the BookBond Pen, it made my little analog heart go pitter patter.

What is it?

The BookBond Pen is a titanium multi-tool bookmarker. Who knew those words would be in the same sentence together, but here we are. The BookBond Pen is a titanium bookmarker with an everlasting (graphite) pencil and extra features.

Why do I like it?

I like the BookBond Pen because it’s a unique multi-tool. It’s not only a bookmarker and a pen (pencil) that never runs out of ink or lead, but it’s a ruler, a pry bar, and a box opener.

The BookBond Pen campaign ends on 12/14/23 and they have already met their funding goal of $6,000. You can pre-order a BookBond Pen starting at $45. After the BookBond Pen campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in February 2024. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

T-Shirt TV

If your preferred clothing staple is a t-shirt, listen up because this might be the ultimate t-shirt for anyone who wants one shirt that can always have a different look every time you put it on.

What is it?

The T-Shirt TV is a regular t-shirt with a no-so-regular feature of a built-in digital display!

Why do I like it?

I like the T-Shirt TV because it’s quirky and weird, and I can imagine all the awesome quirky and weird people who would love the ability to customize their shirt with their favorite memes, pictures, and artwork. And it’s not just for still images. It can also display animations and video with sound if you connect a Bluetooth speaker! The only gotcha is that it has a 2-4hr battery life, so it won’t get you through a full day of awesomeness without carrying an additional battery pack.

The BookBond Pen campaign ends on 12/15/23 and they have already met their funding goal of $5,000. You can pre-order a BookBond Pen starting at $149. After the BookBond Pen campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in February 2024. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

HOMBI

If you are tired of the same old boring phone and tablet stands, the HOMBI stand might be just what you’ve been looking for because you get to put it together yourself.

What is it?

HOMBI is a customizable tablet, phone, photo, or business card holder/stand made of wooden and metal parts.

Why do I like it?

I like the HOMBI device stand because it looks completely different than the 100’s of stands that are currently on the market. I also like wood and the fact that you can assemble it yourself and it can fold for travel.

Where can I find more info?

The HOMBI campaign ends on 12/19/23 and they are still working to meet their funding goal of $3,276. You can pre-order a HOMBI starting at $20. After the HOMBI campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in February 2024. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Yosemite Shelving

Yosemite Shelving will let you organize everything in your garage with custom shelving that won’t take weeks to build!

What is it?

Yosemite Shelving is specially designed brackets that allow you to create custom shelving units all by yourself.

Why do I like it?

I like the Yosemite Shelving brackets because they are made here in the US, come in different colors, and allow someone like me to create rugged shelving units in my garage without much effort. Just grab some 2x4s for the frames, and plywood, OSB, MDF, etc, for the shelves, and you’ll be able to build a set of shelves as easily as building with LEGO. You need a saw too, but you won’t need the hardware because it’s included with the brackets.

Where can I find more info?

The Yosemite Shelving campaign ends on 11/26/23 and they have already met their funding goal of $15,000. You can pre-order a set of Yosemite brackets starting at $149. After the Yosemite Shelving campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in June 2024. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

  1. Gadgeteer Comment Policy - Please read before commenting
  2. Thanks for these Julie!

Note: the copy at the end of the T-Shirt TV piece references “BookBond Pen campaign” (the other info and link is correct though)
