REVIEW – I am constantly working on improving the quality of my Podcast and the process involves upgrading several devices and creating an effective and efficient workspace. I recently added a second Pro camera to my broadcast and I now use a multiview monitor. In order to position the multiview monitor correctly, I need a good mount/holder that will accommodate my 15-inch portable monitor and allow the range of motion I need. While this Xlayout X-Arm Flexible Tablet & Phone Mount Holder is not designed for a portable monitor, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Design and features
The Xlayout X-Arm Flexible Tablet & Phone Mount Holder is made mostly of Aluminum. The phone/tablet section is removable and when connected swivels on a ball joint connection. The inside of the holder that the phone or tablet rests against has a silicone pad. The center section of the mane upright of this device has a swivel arm that allows you to raise or lower the attached device. The base has a built-in desk clamp and the main upright is able to turn 360 degrees on the desk clamp.
Setup
The Xlayout X-Arm Flexible Tablet & Phone Mount Holder is very easy to set up. Simply attach the expandable device clamping section to the main body of the holder and then attach the desk clamp to the desk.
Performance
The Xlayout X-Arm Flexible Tablet & Phone Mount Holder is a well-made mount with a swing arm and 360-degree swivel. It is lightweight and sleek and feels very sturdy. The desk clamp remains tightened onto my desk and does not loosen like some others that I have tried. I am also very happy and impressed that the clamp opens wide enough to accommodate my portable monitor. The range of movement for the holder with the monitor is very good. This Xlayout X-Arm should last for years.

What I’d change
- I would prefer each left-to-right rotation adjustment to have a positive click and more positional retention.
Final thoughts
The Xlayout X-Arm Flexible Tablet & Phone Mount Holder turned out to be the perfect solution that I need to mount a 15-inch portable monitor to my desk. I use that monitor as a multiview monitor when I am recording/broadcasting my Podcast or other live-streaming content. I did not expect the holder to accommodate it so I am extremely pleased. Overall this is a good product.

Kick it up a notch. You can buy a magnetic mount for $12 on Amazon so you don’t have to deal with the pinching. It replaces the mounting unit at the ball joint. Good up to 3lb I believe.
