NEWS – We’ve shared camping-focused multi-tools like this one in the past, and our readers will say that the quality of these tools might be a little sus. Today, I want to show you the Zune Lotoo Survival Shovel Multitool. Crazy name, but also it proclaims to be crazy tough. Made of Martensitic steel. This is the first time that I’ve heard of this type of steel, so I Googled it and apparently, it has exceptional hardness, corrosion resistance, and durability. If you trust that, you might want to check out this tool because it has the following features and functions: shovel, window breaker, axe, hammer, whistle, camera tripod, wire clamper, weapon, pry tool, bottle opener, harpoon, fire starter, knife, and more. I think the 28-in-1 claims are a little overblown, but the tool does look nice. If you’re interested, you can learn more on the Amazon product page where it’s currently selling for $209.99 and has a high percentage of 5-start reviews.

  2. Its a Zune so I suspect it will hold up better playing MP3s than it will digging holes in packed dirt or cutting wood.

Martensitic steel is one of the two normal crystalline forms of steel. Not anything special. Actually seems a little deceptive. Stainless steel would be better for this application because of its corrosion resistance. This thing really costs over $200? There are some excellent multi-tools on Amazon for about 20 bucks. One would be better serve to get one of those, and a more mundane poop shovel.

I looked a little more, and noticed very similar offerings on Amazon for $60. Now of course our no-name Chinese vendor on Amazon will say that all of the other no-name Chinese vendors on Amazon are selling fakes, but the reality is that every one of them is getting this item from the same factory.

Maybe you should invest a little more time into your next article.
