REVIEW – For the past couple of months I have been rehabbing a bathroom in my basement that the previous homeowner had obviously neglected for many years. It needed a lot of work and as a DIYer, I was up to the task. Now I am at the stage where I am working on the finishing touches and sound/music is a feature I want to add. I have this idea of adding a shelf that I will build inside of the shower to place the speaker on, but that would mean that the speaker would have to be waterproof and somewhat durable. I wonder if this Votomy VT360 Bluetooth speaker will do the trick? Let’s see!!

What is it?

The Votomy VT360 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a wireless speaker featuring Bluetooth 5.0, rich bass, IP67 Waterproof, 5200mAh, 100Ft Wireless Range, and TWS Pairing.

This portable Bluetooth speaker has a grill that surrounds the body, a speaker on each end, the controls on one of the long sides, and the connections on another long side. It has rubber feet for it to rest on.

Performance

Right out of the box, I charged the speaker to a full charge and then powered it on and connected via Bluetooth. The entire process was easy and straightforward.

On one side of the speaker body, there is a connections hub that is covered by a rubber flap that kept water out. The ports are similar to any speaker of this type, with the charging port, a USB out port for powering/charging other USB devices, and an auxiliary port that allows you to plug in an audio device via a 1/8″ plug.

The speaker is well built with a nice weight to it. The built-in battery lasts beyond 7 hours which was the longest I had it playing continuously. The speaker works well for all of the genres I frequently listen to including Jazz, Lovers Rock, Caribbean, Latin, and easy listening. It provides and really nice balance and separation of the lows, mids, and highs. The music reproduction is detailed and clean and the volume is enough for a small gathering and more than enough at night when it is quiet.

Like most of the Bluetooth speakers that I have tested, the phone function works well and calls are clear for both parties on each end of the line. This speaker is capable of being paired with another of its kind.

Here is a video of the waterproof test:

What I like

  • The build quality
  • The overall sound
  • The waterproof ability
  • The length of playtime

What I’d change

  • Can’t think of anything at the moment

Final thoughts

The Votomy VT360 Bluetooth speaker works great for me when hanging out on my deck at night just relaxing and listening to jazz. The sound quality to good for a speaker this size. I never use this type of device to charge another albeit that it is capable. The volume is more than adequate and can actually be quite loud on a quiet night. At first, I did think that it is a bit expensive given that it is one in a crowded field. However,  IMHO its overall solid performance coupled with its proven waterproof ability make it a good choice.
