NEWS – Grado is back, and it’s not a new pair of open-backed wireless headphones. The Brooklyn-based headphone and phono cartridge maker has just released the Grado GT220—a pair of totally wireless earphones—a first for Grado.
Grado’s GT220 features 8mm dynamic drivers that deliver that famous Grado sound with accurate bass, detailed midrange, and precise treble. It also offers Bluetooth 5.0, Apt-x and AAC compatibility. Does anyone worry about the radio signals going through your skull to connect the ear buds together? I love wireless headphones but want the 2 ear pieces connected by a wire rather than using grey matter as a conduit. Perhaps some balance with wired together ear buds?
These look pretty similar to all the generic ones on Amazon that sell for $30 or so. Even the case looks pretty much the same. Makes you wonder what could possibly be inside to justify the extra $190?
