NEWS – Back when I actually used a dedicated eReader and not my phone or a tablet to read ebooks, I dreamt of having an eReader with a color display. That dream is now a reality with the Onyx Boox Poke2 Color which features Kaleido display technology that has offers a 6 inch E ink touch screen that can display 4,096 colors.
The Android 9.0 powered ebook reader was just announced yesterday with limited availability and unfortunately, the first batch has already sold out. Priced at $299, there are few details about the Poke2 Color on the Boox website. I’d like to know how long the 1500 mAh battery lasts per charge and the book formats this eReader supports. If I can get my hands on one, you can bet that a review will follow soon.

I’ve wanted one of these for YEARS. Glad to see they are coming along.
I would prefer to use this for comics, graphic novels, and magazines – all of which I now consume in electronic form.
Jeff, I thought the same thing, but you have to admit that an iPad has a MUCH better display. The color E ink is pretty subdued. Having said that, I would hope that the battery life on the Poke2 would be a lot better than a tablet’s battery life.
I completely agree. E-ink cannot replicate the iPad display – that’s what I use now!!
But, I’d love the battery life and the daylight visibility of the kindle in a color format. Hey, I can dream!!!
I prefer e-ink over a tablet for reading. Much easier on my eyes. I don’t really need color as I mostly read books, not comics or magazines. But I feel color is a good move forward.
