NEWS – As a kid, I always thought that Swiss Army knives were the coolest multi-tools. I guess I liked the bright red plastic. But once I grew up and actually got one of my own, I wasn’t super impressed and moved on to Leatherman tools and other EDC pocket tools. The newest multi-tool to catch my eye is the Gerber Armbar. It has an odd name, but I like the pocket knife form factor.
I also really like the bit driver that folds out from the handle into a straight line instead of an awkward offset like most Leatherman tools.
The Armbar multi-tool features a 2.5 inch blade, an awl, pry bar, bottle opener, hammer, scissors and a 2.5 in. extension driver with double-sided bit.
The Armbar is available in several colors and is priced at $39.95. Head over to gerber.com or Amazon for more info.

Julie, you need to discover the joy of modding your Swiss Army Knife 🙂 Start with a $25 VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY Hiker 91mm Pocket Knife (ASIN B0001P151M) or the smaller 84mm 2-layer $18 MAP Walker Red (ASIN B01E414BDM) and upgrade with Plus scales of the appropriate size which will add the ballpoint pen slot for $15 from SwissArmyKnifeShop on Etsy then replace the toothpick with a FireFly ferrocerium rod from Tortoise Gear ($15 for a pack of 3).
David, oh boy… Now you have me going to down a rabbit hole! Ha! Thanks! I think 😉
Great nice to see someone else who shares my love of gadgets. Knives and tools. I am not into minimalism. But a like minded lady who shares this 72 yr ol womans love of of gadgets is awesome. Thank you.
CJ, welcome!
How well does the bit driver works? I like the tool, but thats the main point for me.
Raul, this isn’t a review. It’s a news post introducing readers to the tool. I don’t have one – yet. If I get one, I’ll do a full review.
