Design and features
The Moshi QuickDuo car charger is a nice, compact solution to add to your car if you need that extra charging capability. At a tiny 2.44″ by 1.06″ it fits nicely into your dashboard landscape without getting in the way,
I especially like the style. The black body with the aluminum faceplate gives it a classy look that happens to blend perfectly with my car’s decor. Note that this is the only color scheme offered. It’s fairly generic as far as interiors go, but you may want to consider your car’s interior before going in on this one.
You’ll note that the charger does not sit flush with the surface of my dash. This particular charger is still a lot lower than others I have worked with, and I don’t mind it. I would imagine this would be important for deeper plugs or plugs that are jammed into a glove box. It’s still rock solid and stable once it’s popped in, and looks pretty sharp to my eye.
This particular charger is that it runs both USB-C and USB-A, both with 18 W power. I can charge my MacBook Pro and my iPhone XS Max from this device at the same time. It will also support fast charging on either your iPhone or Android phone.
Between those two ports, I think you’d be hard pressed to find something that you couldn’t charge with this device. I love the USB-C for charging my laptop if I’m running low on juice and traveling between meetings. My car also has limited USB port to begin with, so this unit comes in handy when I have multiple passengers begging for charging space.
The unit also offers overcharge protection, although I have not run into a situation where I have pressed that yet.
What I like
- Elegant looking charger.
- USB-C and USB-A compatibility.
- Dual charging capability at the same time, with 18 W power to each port.
- Low profile.
What needs to be improved
- Color scheme may not match your ride.
Final thoughts
There’s not a lot more to say about this one, folks. I’ve seen no issues with performance during my 1-month run with the device. The added convenience of both a USB-C and USB-A port comes in very handy. I also love that it matches the black-and-aluminum trim in my car perfectly. If you’re looking for a charging port with USB-C and USB-A, you won’t go wrong with this one.
