Do you remember the Keybrid Keyring Key that I reviewed about 5 years ago? It was the marriage of a common house key and a split keyring. Amron Experimental, the same company who brought us the Keybrid is back with a new key-based product. This one is the Carabiner Key and as you’ve already guessed, it’s a key with a built in carabiner. It has a spring loaded gate that you can use to attach the key to your belt loop, gear bag, etc. It’s priced at $12.50 each and comes in either Kwikset or Schlage style key blanks so that you can take it to a key making kiosk to copy an existing key. What do you think? Useful or silly? Visit Amron Experimental for more info.

What would be cool is something that will slip over the head of any key to give it the carabiner feature…this way it can be reused.
Interesting idea!
At $12.50 per key – the word would be “overpriced”.
The “ring” on this key is too thick to loops other keys in.
