As a kid, I loved almost all things glow-in-the-dark. The Zulu bicycle from Pure Fix Cycles is a glow-in-the-dark bicycle that I would have loved to have owned. The paint is solar-activated and just one hour in the sun will give you about one hour of nighttime glow. This is a single speed bicycle that allows you the flexibility to ride it in either a fixed gear or freewheel configuration.  A fixed gear bicycle will have the drive sprocket connected directly to the back wheel so that the pedals are always spinning with the movement of the back wheel.  The freewheel configuration would be just like the bike you learned to ride on as a kid which allows you to coast, except you can’t back-pedal to brake (the bike is only provided with a front wheel hand brake). The Zulu sells for $399 from Pure Fix Cycles. Please visit their website for more information.

A glow in the dark bike is not only cool, but it’s a great safety feature 🙂
